Our People · Culture · Benefits
What it's actually like to work here — the roster, the village, the technical environment, and what we offer the people who build this operation every day.
Our Culture
SRT Mining Group's culture is defined by one simple truth: we hire engineers who want to solve hard problems, and we give them the environment to do it properly. That means adequate resources, experienced technical mentorship, and a leadership team that measures success by the quality of your engineering outputs — not your desk hours.
We are a subsidiary of SRT Group, which means we operate with the financial backing and long-term capital horizon of a significant private group, without the short-termism that shapes decision-making at publicly listed operators. When we commit to a project, we fund it properly. When we hire someone, we invest in their development over years, not months.
That said, we are not a relaxed environment. Twenty-four consecutive above-guidance quarters does not happen without people who hold each other to a high standard, who speak up when something is wrong, and who take personal ownership of their work. If that sounds like the kind of team you want to be part of, you will fit in here.
Our site workforce operates under an 8/6 FIFO roster — eight days on site, six days off. Perth-based flights are operated from Perth Airport. Engineers based outside Perth are supported with equivalent travel allowances, and a drive-in, drive-out (DIDO) option is available for employees residing in the Port Hedland area.
FIFO Roster — 8/6
Fly-in fly-out from Perth Airport. Site-based roles include 12-hour day shifts with a rotating shift handover day. All flights and transfers are company-paid.
Accommodation
Our 850-person single-occupancy accommodation village is one of the better facilities in the WA Pilbara. All rooms are single occupancy with private bathroom, air conditioning, wifi, and a dedicated study desk — important for engineers who do technical reading and report preparation in the evenings.
The village has been progressively upgraded since 2019. The dining facility operates on an all-inclusive catering arrangement with three hot meal services per day, plus a 24-hour dry goods and snacks facility for shift workers. Dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, halal, and allergy-specific options are fully accommodated.
We take the village environment seriously because we know that quality of time off site directly affects quality of time on site. Our HR team conducts quarterly village satisfaction surveys, and the results genuinely inform facility investment decisions.
