Port Hedland, Pilbara · Est. 2004 · A Subsidiary of SRT Group
SRT Mining Group is one of Australia's fastest-growing copper and gold producers. Operating in the heart of the Pilbara, we have delivered above-guidance production in each of our last 24 consecutive quarters — and we're just getting started.
Our Story
Established in 2004 as a wholly owned subsidiary of SRT Group, SRT Mining Group has grown from a junior explorer into one of the Pilbara's most significant base and precious metals producers. Our flagship Turner River Copper-Gold Complex — located 62 kilometres southeast of Port Hedland — hosts one of the highest-grade copper-gold deposits identified in the region in the past two decades.
Headquartered in Port Hedland with a corporate office in Perth, we are a lean, high-performance operation. Our people are driven by a simple belief: that every target exists to be exceeded. That culture of relentless outperformance has delivered 24 consecutive quarters of above-guidance production — a record unmatched in the WA mining sector.
SRT Group provides strategic and financial backing that enables SRT Mining Group to move faster, invest bolder, and grow harder than any comparable producer in Australia.
What We Do
Our flagship operation produces high-purity copper concentrate and gold doré for export to global markets. What sets Turner River apart isn't just the grade — it's the pace of growth.
62km Southeast of Port Hedland, Pilbara WA
The Turner River Complex encompasses three open-cut pits and a 5.2Mtpa concentrator facility. Since commissioning in 2009, the operation has been expanded four times — each time exceeding the projected output of the previous stage within 18 months of commissioning.
In Q2 FY2026 we achieved record copper production of 48,200 tonnes — 61% above guidance — driven by exceptional ore grade from the newly opened Eastern Lens ore zone and improved plant recovery rates across all processing circuits.
Our froth flotation and dense media separation circuits produce a 28–32% Cu concentrate. A $520M Stage 5 expansion, due for commissioning in Q3 FY2027, will lift nameplate capacity to 9.0Mtpa — 73% above current levels. We expect it to run at full capacity within 12 months of commissioning.
Gold is recovered as a by-product through a carbon-in-leach (CIL) circuit appended to the main concentrator. We poured 38,400 oz of gold doré in Q2 FY2026 — 44% above guidance. Annual gold production has grown 290% over the past three years, consistently outperforming resource model forecasts.
Our exploration team is drilling across a 480km² tenement package in the Pilbara. Recent reverse circulation results at the Boodarie North target returned 94m at 3.1% CuEq — the strongest intercept in the Pilbara copper corridor in over a decade. A maiden resource estimate is expected by Q4 FY2026.
Our Commitment
Our growth story is only worth telling if it's built on a foundation of responsible practice. As we expand operations across the Pilbara, we remain deeply committed to minimising our environmental footprint, protecting the cultural heritage of the land we operate on, and giving more back to the communities that surround our sites than we take out.
SRT Mining Group has committed to Scope 1 and 2 net-zero by 2034 — the most ambitious decarbonisation target of any Pilbara copper producer. We are already 40% of the way there.
2025 Sustainability ReportNet-zero Scope 1 and 2 by 2034. Our Turner River Solar Microgrid — 48MW of on-site solar generation — already offsets 62% of site electricity demand. A 120MWh battery storage system is under construction, due online Q1 FY2027.
Zero harm, no compromises. We have maintained a Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate below 1.5 for seven consecutive years. Our workforce is 41% female — the highest proportion of any Pilbara copper operation — and rising.
We operate with integrity — doing what is right and what we say we will do. As a wholly owned subsidiary of SRT Group, we are subject to rigorous group-wide governance standards and independent audit processes across all operational and financial activities.
Our People
Our 2,200+ employees and contractors are the reason we keep setting records. We invest heavily in training, career development, and wellbeing — because people who feel valued perform at a level that makes the numbers look easy.
Community
SRT Mining Group has invested more than $48M in community infrastructure, education, and First Nations partnerships across the Pilbara since 2010. That number grows every year — by a lot.
