Overview
The Turner River Complex is located 62 kilometres southeast of Port Hedland in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia, accessible via sealed and maintained unsealed road. The operation sits within a 480km² tenement package and encompasses three open-cut mining pits — the Main Pit, Western Pit, and Eastern Lens — together with a 5.2 million tonne per annum processing facility, tailings storage facility, and supporting infrastructure.
The copper-gold orebody at Turner River is hosted within a Proterozoic volcano-sedimentary sequence, characterised by disseminated and stringer sulphide mineralisation within a chlorite-carbonate altered schist. The deposit is geologically similar in style to IOCG (Iron Oxide Copper-Gold) systems observed in the Olympic Dam district of South Australia, though with a more predictable geometry that has contributed to our consistently high ore grade performance against resource model forecasts.
Mining is conducted by open-cut methods using owner-operated drill and blast, load and haul equipment. ROM ore is delivered to a primary jaw crusher before entering the concentrator. The processing facility produces a high-quality copper concentrate grading 28–32% Cu, with gold recovered as a by-product through a dedicated carbon-in-leach circuit.
Concentrate is transported by road train to Port Hedland for export. The majority of our concentrate is sold under long-term offtake agreements to smelters in Asia, with a smaller volume directed to European customers.

Processing Circuit
Our processing circuit has been progressively refined through four expansion stages. The current 5.2Mtpa facility operates at world-class availability and recovery rates for a sulphide copper-gold system.
ROM ore is tipped to a primary jaw crusher operating at 1,500 tph. Crushed ore is conveyed to the coarse ore stockpile. A scalping screen ahead of the crusher diverts fine material directly to the SAG mill feed conveyor.
A 12MW SAG mill and two 7.5MW ball mills in closed circuit with hydrocyclones reduce ore to a P80 of 150 microns. Cyclone overflow reports to the flotation feed thickener. Mill liner management is a key maintenance focus, with a dedicated liner change-out programme maintaining plant availability above 93%.
Three banks of rougher flotation cells followed by two scavenger stages recover copper sulphide minerals (chalcopyrite, bornite) into a bulk rougher concentrate. Reagent suite includes xanthate collectors, frother, and a pH modifier to maintain circuit pH at 9.5–10.5. Rougher recovery averages 91% copper.
Rougher concentrate is reground in an IsaMill to P80 80 microns before reporting to three stages of cleaner flotation. Final concentrate grades 28–32% Cu with gold credits of 8–12 g/t. Cleaner tailings are recycled to the rougher circuit. Overall plant recovery averages 87% copper and 82% gold into concentrate.
Cleaner tailings and a portion of scavenger tailings are directed to a dedicated CIL circuit for gold recovery. Cyanide leach followed by carbon adsorption, elution, and electrowinning produces gold doré on site. CIL circuit gold recovery averages 78%. The CIL circuit was commissioned in 2013 and expanded in 2019.
Final copper concentrate is thickened and filtered in a pressure filter to below 9% moisture. Filtered concentrate is conveyed to a covered storage shed and loaded onto road trains for transport to Port Hedland for export. Annual concentrate production in FY2025 was approximately 580,000 dry metric tonnes.
Site Infrastructure
The Turner River Complex is a self-contained operation with significant on-site infrastructure investment supporting our people, our energy independence, and our environmental obligations.
Stage 2 of our on-site solar generation facility was commissioned in September 2025, providing 62% of site electricity demand. A 120MWh battery energy storage system is under construction, due online Q1 FY2027.
An 850-person single-occupancy accommodation village with full amenity — gym, pool, dining, recreation, and medical facilities. The village supports our FIFO workforce operating on an 8/6 roster.
73% of total process water is recycled within the circuit. Fresh groundwater draw from the Turner River aquifer system operates under a licensed allocation reviewed annually with the WA Department of Water and Environmental Regulation.
680 hectares of previously disturbed land has been progressively rehabilitated and independently certified to DEMIRS standards. Our rehabilitation programme is managed by a dedicated 6-person environmental team.
52 kilometres of maintained haul roads connecting the three pit complexes, ROM pad, waste dumps, and processing facility. Road maintenance is managed by the site's infrastructure team year-round.
Copper concentrate is transported via road train to Port Hedland for containerised or bulk export. The majority of production moves under long-term offtake to Asian smelters. Gold doré is airlifted direct from site.
Stage 5 Expansion
The SRT Group Board approved the Stage 5 expansion in April 2026. Construction commenced in May 2026. The project will lift nameplate processing capacity from 5.2Mtpa to 9.0Mtpa — a 73% increase — through the addition of a second SAG and ball mill circuit, expanded flotation capacity, and a new pressure filtration and load-out facility.
First ore through the new circuit is targeted for Q3 FY2027. Based on our track record across Stages 2 through 4, we expect the new circuit to reach nameplate capacity within 12 months of commissioning.

Exploration
Our exploration team is actively drilling across the Boodarie North target, located 18km north of the existing Turner River pits within our tenement package. Recent reverse circulation drilling returned 94 metres at 3.1% CuEq from 42 metres depth — the strongest copper intercept in the Pilbara corridor in over a decade.
A maiden JORC mineral resource estimate is expected in Q4 FY2026. If resource estimates support it, a standalone or satellite processing option at Boodarie North will be assessed as part of the Stage 6 scoping study commencing in 2027.
Our total exploration expenditure in FY2025 was $34M, across the Boodarie North programme, step-out drilling at Turner River Eastern Lens, and regional airborne geophysics across our broader tenement footprint.
